20 straight answers about how FOBICA works, what a project involves and what you can expect from us.
We help businesses plan, set up, run and grow food and beverage manufacturing plants. The work covers project planning and feasibility, plant setup and commissioning, regulatory support, quality and food safety, operations and manpower, machinery and technology, branding and market development, and business development.
Entrepreneurs starting their first plant, investors looking at manufacturing opportunities, startups, existing manufacturers, brand owners who want to launch through their own plant or a co-packer, and corporates that need specialist project or operational support.
Packaged drinking water, mineral water, sparkling and alkaline water, carbonated soft drinks, juices and fruit-based beverages, energy and functional beverages, contract manufacturing and co-packing, and bakery products. We also work on other food and beverage products; tell us what you make.
Yes. Packaged drinking water is our flagship specialism and has its own detailed page, and our practice covers food and beverage manufacturing as a whole.
FOBICA is an Indian company working with food and beverage businesses in India. Tell us where your site or market is, and we will confirm how we can support you there, including site visits.
With a conversation. Book free expert advice or send an enquiry. A consultant reads your brief, calls you to understand the project and recommends a next step. If we work together, the scope, deliverables and fees are agreed in writing before any work begins.
Yes. Many clients start with one piece of work, often a feasibility study or a plant audit, and add more as the project moves. Others ask us to cover the whole project. Each engagement is scoped to the stage you are in.
Yes, if you want us to. After commissioning we help with quality systems, productivity, manpower, cost, branding, sales channels and expansion. That is the Optimise and Grow part of our six-step approach.
Yes. The first consultation is free. Tell us a little about your project when you book, and we will confirm the format and length before we meet.
Yes. Vendor coordination is part of plant setup. We act as one point of coordination across machinery, utility and civil vendors, and work with the people you have already appointed.
It depends on the product, capacity, level of automation, building, utilities, compliance and working capital. A feasibility study gives you a realistic, itemised range before you commit capital, rather than a single number guessed in advance.
Project planning produces a feasibility report, a project cost sheet and a profitability model that you can share with a lender, partner or investor. Tell us who the report is for, so we can agree its format and depth at the start.
It depends on how ready the site is, machinery lead times, civil work and approvals. During planning we build a milestone-based timeline, and we run compliance work alongside the build so it does not hold up commissioning.
It depends on your volumes, capital, how much control you need over quality and how quickly you want to reach the market. We compare both routes for your product, including costs, risks and the specifications a co-packer would need to meet.
We prepare your project thoroughly for the authorities, who grant licences, registrations and certifications. We provide FSSAI-related and BIS-related expert advice: we work out which requirements apply, prepare the documentation, plan the QC laboratory and coordinate the applications and inspections.
It depends on the product, the scale and the location. Most manufacturers need FSSAI licensing; some products, packaged drinking water among them, also need BIS certification; and pre-packaged goods must meet Legal Metrology requirements for their labels. Requirements change, so we confirm them for your project.
At the start. Compliance shapes the layout, the QC laboratory, the product specifications and the label, so it is far cheaper to design it in than to change a finished plant.
Yes. Business plans, costs, recipes and plant details are treated as confidential. If you would like a non-disclosure agreement in place before you share details, ask us when you book.
Yes, with the client's written permission. A case study is either named, with permission to show the client's name and logo, or anonymised, with no name and only region-level detail. All other client work stays confidential.
It is used to reply to your enquiry and is seen only by the FOBICA team and the service providers who run our systems. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
